Next up, the Samsung dryer won’t heat up if your house is in a place with frequent voltage fluctuation. This is because heating in Samsung Dryer is done with the help of a heating coil and stable electricity.

How to Fix Samsung Dryer Not Heating Up
Here we have listed six fixes to resolve the Samsung Dryer not heating up issue. If your washing machine is under warranty, make sure not to move below the third fix because that will void your warranty. In that case, directly visit Service Center or call Samsung to arrange home pickup.
Fix 1: Look for Overload
The first step in troubleshooting Samsung Dryer not heating up issue is to check how much load is inside the laundry basket. Most of the domestic Samsung Dryers come with a rated capacity of 6 KG to 9 KG. If you have exceeded this capacity, your washing machine won’t function normally.
Make sure to look at the washing machine’s back. There you will find the prescribed weight-bearing capacity of the machine and then unload the extra load. Once you have gotten rid of the extra load, try turning on the dryer to check. If it is not working, move to the next fix.
Fix 2: Check for Voltage Fluctuations
Although the world has moved at a fast pace and technology also has advanced, but voltage fluctuations are common in every place in this world. If there’s no stable voltage in your area, Samsung Dryer will not heat up. You can use a voltmeter to check voltage fluctuations.
If you notice that there’s an issue with that, you need to install a stabilizer. Once you install it, turn on your washing machine, put laundry in the dryer, and check whether it is heating up. If not, follow up with the next fix.
Fix 3: Check the Thermal Fuse
If the above fixes didn’t help, you need to check the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is often located at the back of the washing machine or one top and can be easily accessed by a Philips screwdriver. We cannot tell the appropriate size, but it is a tiny one with 4 heads.
Remember, the fuse is at the top if your washing machine is a front-load machine. If it is top load, then the fuse is at the back. Now that you know where to remove the case, unscrew the fuse case and check whether any fuse is blown or not. If yes, replace it. Fuses are readily available in the market. Follow up with the next fix if this doesn’t fix your issue.
Fix 4: Check the Heating Element
Note: This is an advanced method and might require expert supervision. Please contact the service center if you are not trained to do this.
If the Samsung dryer is not heating up, there’s 50% chance that the heating element is not functional. So, you need a multimeter and check whether the heating element is fine or not. To do this:
- If top load: Open the back of the washing machine and remove the entire casing.
- If front load: Open the front of the washing machine and remove the entire casing.
- As depicted in the screenshot, you will see a thin plate covering the internals. Unscrew that, and you will have the heating element in your hand.
- Use a multimeter to check whether there’s any issue.
If you find a problem with the heating element, purchase a new one and install it. If the heating element looks good and the multimeter doesn’t report any short circuits, move on to the next fix.
Fix 5: Check the Control Board Heater Relay
The control board heater relay is responsible for circulating power to the heating element, thermostat, and dryer. If there’s a problem with the Control Board Heater Relay, Samsung Dryer won’t heat up. The CBHR is also known as the brain of the washing machine.
However, we would again like to warn you that this is an advanced procedure, and if you don’t have any prior experience handling such electronics, it is better that you take it to the service center and let the professionals handle it.
So, follow these steps to check the CBHR:
- If top load: Open the back of the washing machine and remove the entire casing.
- If front load: Open the front of the washing machine and remove the entire casing.
- Just where you saw the Heating Element, the CBHR is above that. So, unscrew it, and you will have the CBHR.
- Unplug it and take it out and use a multimeter to check it.
- If you find any fault, it is better to buy a new one and replace it.
We don’t suggest repairing the heater relay because it will again need service after repairs every month or two. So, replace it and fix your issue.
Fix 6: Visit the Service Center
If none of the above fixes have helped you, it is better to take your washing machine to the service center and get it fixed. Moreover, if your washing machine is under warranty, you don’t need to perform anything after Fix 3.
This is because if you do anything from Fix 4, your warranty will be void, and you will be on your own. So, it is better to contact the service center and let the professionals handle it.
